Flight Instructor Listing Guidelines

Home > Training > Flight Instructor Directory > Guidelines

Free listings are provided for the asking to any flight instructor (airplanes or other craft) anywhere who is currently accepting new students.

Listings are available to ezine subscribers only. Please subscribe before submitting your listing.

Submit the following information by email. If you would like to recommend an instructor, please refer him or her to this page, since we will only list instructors by their request.

Include the following:
  • city, state (or country) where training is based
  • If you teach in multiple, neighboring states, please indicate the state in which you do the most training, since that is the state where your listing will be placed.
  • your name
  • airport(s) where training is based (3 or 4-letter codes are best so we know exactly which airport you mean)
  • name of flight school or club where you are employed/affiliated (if applicable), or state if you are independent (self-employed).
  • models of aircraft you have access to for instructional purposes, or if you only instruct in student-owned craft, state that.
  • instructor ratings held (CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, IGI, etc.)
  • other qualifications you wish to list (college degrees, ATP, Gold Seal instructor, designated examiner, air traffic controller, foreign languages spoken, etc.)
  • experience you wish to list ("CFI since 1985", "1500+ hours instruction given", books/articles written, etc.)
  • any specialized or beyond-the-norm training you offer (aerobatics, mountain flying, international flying, accelerated instrument ratings, etc)
  • any other relevant info you would like to add (special deals you are offering, rates, brief statement of your personal outlook on instructing, etc.)
  • contact info (email recommended- we suggest having a separate address for your CFI activities; phone and/or mailing address optional)
  • website address (if applicable)

We will email you when your listing is online, with a link to the actual page. We will also add you to our flight instructor mailing list, which is for news and administrative purposes related to the listings. Your email address will not be given or sold to others or used for other purposes.

If you haven't gotten a response or seen your listing on the site within 10 days, please write us again. We may have missed your email or even not received it.

We ask that you:
  • Review your listing for accuracy and inform us ASAP of any corrections.
  • Let us know if you stop instructing for any reason, or no longer wish to be listed, so we may remove your listing. (If you are taking extended time off, we can update your listing to indicate that.)
  • Let us know if your contact info, location, or other items in your listing change.

If you have an aviation-related website, a link to the main page of this site would be appreciated (http://theinfrequentflyer.com).

We also appreciate any articles you submit for publication on this site.
