(NUW) |
| flying club | Whidbey Island Navy Flying Club
|
| airplanes available | Cessna 152, 172; Piper Arrow (complex), Seneca
(twin), Cherokee 140; Citabria (taildragger); Navy T-34B's (military trainer)
|
| airplane ratings | CFI, CFII, MEI |
| specialized training offered | tailwheel, high-performance/complex. I can also offer
BFRs or IPCs or any other instructor services in student owned/rented aircraft on a very short notice.
|
| other info | Club open to all active duty military, retirees and reserve personnel and their
families, as well as DOD civil service employees, FAA employees, Civil Air Patrol members, and base contractors.
(Hint: if you don't see yourself in any of the above categories just join the Civil Air Patrol.). Club rates are the lowest
in the Pacific Northwest. Example: Piper Cherokee $56, Cessna 152 $50, Cessna 172 $66,
Piper Arrow $80*, Citabria $60, T-34B $77*, Piper Seneca $143*. All prices are wet.
All complex aircraft denoted with * have an air switch that prevents the hobbs meter from kicking on
until you are above 30 knots. In other words you don't pay for any run up or any taxiing. So if you make full stop
landings with taxi backs instead of touch and goes you score as the hobbs kicks off everytime! It effectively
makes the aircraft much cheaper than the advertised price which is already lower than the competition, and you can
log much more than you pay for.
We have our own full time maintenance shop and our aircraft receive top notch care. We also
only use factory engines at TBO instead of overhauls.
